Deadliest Catch Captain Dies

Phil Harris, the fishing boat captain from television's wildly popular reality series 'The Deadliest Catch' has died.

The deep-sea fisherman, 53, suffered a stroke on Jan. 29 while in an Alaskan port off-loading a catch. He was flown to Anchorage for surgery and showed signs of recovery through the days following, but ultimately succumbed to the trauma.

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to our dad - Captain Phil Harris," his sons Jake and Josh Harris said in a statement posted on the Discovery Channel Web site. "Dad has always been a fighter and continued to be until the end. For us and the crew, he was someone who never backed down."

The reality show, which has filmed five seasons, has been one of the Discovery Channel's most popular. Harris was a central figure for this drama featuring the ageless tale of man taking on the elements. It depicts the crab fishing industry in the dangerous waters off Alaska.

In a statement, Discovery Channel senior vice president Elizabeth Hillman says, "Phil was a devoted father and loyal friend to all who knew him."

The iPhone maker has rolled out iPhone OS 3.1.3 as what we’re hoping is the last minor update before we see iPhone OS 3.2, or even iPhone OS 4.0, rolling out of Cupertino. This new iPhone update is reportedly more accurate when it comes to battery level reporting, fixes issues with the Japanese keyboard, and helps certain third-party apps launch in some situations. While iPhone OS 3.1.3 might not be the update we’ve been hoping for, it’s at least one step closer to the multi-tasking pot-of-gold at the end of the iPhone rainbow. If the multi-tasking treasure even exists, that is.

If you value your jailbreak and an unlocked iPhone, you will want to avoid updating to iPhone 3.1.3 OS, as it will take all the fun out of your iPhone. Update: We've found that Apple has updated the Modem Firmware from version 5.11.07 to 5.12.01 on the iPhone 3G.

That means there is likely some more stuff going on behind the scenes - as per usual. Therefore, Jailbreakers are advising not to do the update.

Pink Grammy Performance 2010 is a performance worth an award. Pink Grammy performance is creating a buzz, and rightfully so. The singer who has brought us many songs like “Sober” and “Get the Party Started” wowed the Grammy Awards crowd with her over the top performance.

For those that missed the Grammy Awards, a video of the performance can be found below.

At first, it appears if Pink will be covered up during her performance. However, she dropped her sheer body covered robe to showcase a body suit that had lots of white straps strategically covering the parts that must be covered to keep from having the FCC come crashing down on the network.

She went aerial, much as she did during the 2009 VMAs, and the result was a spectacular performance that many will be talking about for the next couple of days.

It’s performances like that from Pink that make us love the Grammy Awards so much. Even if she doesn’t win an award, she is a winner in the eyes of many people. Anyone that can perform some of the acrobatic stunts that she does is worthy of the standing ovation she received.

Ever since it was revealed that Apple would be unveiling a new product at its press event on Wednesday, 27th January, the rumors have been flying. According to itpro.co.uk, this is when Apple is expected to unveil its new tablet-style device.

There have been quite a few rumors as to what it will be called as well. Some have suggested that it will be called the iTablet, while others have suggested that it may be called the iSlate or iPad. But I guess we’ll have to wait until Wednesday to find out.
